The Story of a Punk
Punk is one CRAZY grill guy plain and simple. He’s crazy about grilling up delicious meals for his family and friends and was always on the lookout for distinctive and exciting sauces. Unfortunately, (at least for other sauces) Punk is a perfectionist, and he couldn’t find a grilling sauce or marinade that lived up to his expectations. So he decided he had better”Punk*n” take care of that shiznit on his own. Starting in his kitchen, from ingredients he had grown in his own garden, Punk began making his sauce that would excite his palate and make his barbeques second to none. As I said Punk is a perfectionist and he was bound and determined to make a pepper/grilling sauce that wasn’t like any other. So he spent years perfecting the recipe until he got the flavors right and the reaction he was after. Well, once started there was no looking back, because everyone who tried it wanted more. After a while, with enough encouragement from his amazing friends and family, Punk decided to devote himself to what he loves most, and take his distinctive sauce nation wide. It is a simple story really, of a regular ole guy who refused to accept things as they were, and who, through hard work, was able to create something new and amazing.
Oh and the Name Punk…
Well that’s an awesome story too. After his mother tragically lost her battle with Breast Cancer Punk took care of his younger sister, and she stayed with him until she went into the Airforce. Well, when the time came and she started a family of her own Punk’s sister’s kids didn’t know what to call him. He was their uncle, but he was also their Papa, he was their Papa-Uncle, or Punk… And when it came time to name his distinctive gourmet pepper sauce there was no other name that fit.
While the story of our sauce’s name is heartwarming and fun it originated in deep loss. In addition to his mother, our founder lost two sisters to Cancer as well, and we take the fight to find a cure to this devastating disease even more serious than we do making a quality pepper sauce.
